"Quinta do Campo" is the only surviving estate of the ten Agricultural Farms established in the Coutos de Alcobaça by the Cistercian Monks during the construction of the Monastery of Santa Maria (12th and 13th centuries). It now serves as a comfortable Rural Tourism and Cultural Activities unit. It is the only Portuguese estate classified as a Property of National Public Interest (2005), as it is the sole example in Portugal of medieval Cistercian estate architecture and the best-preserved in the Iberian Peninsula.

On the ground floor, the main house comprises eight rooms. These are accessible from a central corridor that runs the length of the house. Ceilings, walls, and fireplaces are richly decorated in wood and stucco, as are the entrance hall, library, and living room. The first floor also features a longitudinal corridor that provides access to the nine upper rooms. At one end of the house are the living room, dining room, kitchen, and office. There is also a top floor (attic), which spans the width of the house and features a suite with a privileged view of the estate's two main gardens.
